Kathy Maes
LCDC, Primary Counselor Women’s Facility
Kathy started with Bay Area Recovery Center in 2001 as a counselor intern at our first outpatient location in Webster. Even back then she was drawn to helping others but was still battling her own substance abuse problems off and on. She came back to us in 2012. After gaining a stronger foothold in her own recovery efforts along with successfully continuing her education to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, she is one of our primary addiction counselors at our non-coed Women’s Facility. Kathy has a passion for helping other women find long term sobriety. Like her mantra states “us women are going to rise like the phoenix”, she has the tendency to bring out the best in others who often feel so lost in addiction.
